Downtown Huntersville continues to change, and there’s plenty to be excited about! From new places to gather to investments in infrastructure, our town is making some significant moves.
1. A New Parking Deck Is Coming to Downtown
A New Parking Deck Is Coming to Downtown
As downtown Huntersville grows, so does the need for convenient parking. The town is moving forward with plans for a multilevel parking deck to be built directly above the Town Hall parking lot.
The project is designed to serve Town Hall, Veterans Park, local businesses, downtown events, and future development.
It’s an important investment that should make it easier for residents and visitors to enjoy everything downtown has to offer.
2. Bonjour, Cocotte Bakery!
Downtown Huntersville has a delicious new addition! Cocotte Bakery has expanded from its popular Cornelius location, bringing its French-inspired pastries, breads, coffee, and café favorites to The Holbrook at Town Center.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting with one of the owners, Angela, and learning more about what makes Cocotte special. One interesting detail? They import their flour from France to create the authentic flavors and textures customers have come to love.
If you haven’t stopped by, put it on your list. Those chocolate croissants are calling!
3. A New Chapter for the Former Town Hall
The former Huntersville Town Hall at the corner of Gilead Road and Old Statesville Road is preparing for a new purpose.
Plans are underway to transform the historic downtown landmark into a destination featuring restaurants, beverages, and specialty retail. The project will give the building new life while creating additional opportunities for residents and visitors to gather downtown.
Design and leasing are underway, with construction anticipated in 2027 and an opening targeted for later that year.
I’m particularly excited about projects like this because they help create the kind of downtown experience people are looking for: locally owned businesses, inviting gathering places, and more reasons to spend time in the heart of our community.
