Spotlight on Huntersville: August 2026

 1) As mentioned previously, the approved mixed-use project at 106 Gilead, which was commonly referred to as Holbrook Phase 2, is no longer happening.

The Town of Huntersville has now officially purchased this key 1.7-acre property in Downtown.

2) The Town Board has approved the rezoning amendment of Vermillion Village.

The changes include eliminating the 2nd floor in their upcoming non-residential buildings. This is expected to bring a more appropriate amount of parking and 2–3 outdoor patios and activity areas that were not found in the original rezoning.

3) The Town Board approved the rezoning of a 1-acre parcel at the corner of Huntersville-Concord Rd. and Glendale Avenue.

The existing home will be removed, and three new homes will be built as part of the Vermillion neighborhood.

4)  Want to know how Huntersville really works? Huntersville 101 is one of the best ways to get an inside look at the town you call home.

This community engagement program allows residents and business owners to learn how local government operates, explore the services the Town provides, and meet the people who help keep Huntersville running.

If you’ve ever wondered how decisions are made or simply want to become more involved in the community, this is a great place to start.

Spots are still available! The program is open to Huntersville residents and business owners who are 18 years or older.
