Planning Board Recap – March 26, 2024

1) We recommended approval of a text amendment request by the Huntersville Planning Department. This allows them to bring the text into compliance with North Carolina House Bill 600. The specific portion of the bill revolves around stormwater management for parcels being developed or redeveloped. Huntersville already had stormwater management requirements that were more strict than the State requires so the net effect amounts to a verbiage change for us.

2) We recommended approval of a text amendment request by the Huntersville Planning Department. This allows the Zoning Ordinance to clarify the Town’s role in permitting, placement, and enforcement of campaign signs. This might be the only topic where we actually discuss “politics.” Hopefully, these changes will make it easier for citizens to understand where the signs can temporarily go and who has enforcement jurisdiction.

Let's Make It Happen!
